Here are the products, services and Tools that I recommend and use to help build profitable and lasting niche websites. These Tools & Resources will work in any niche and on any type of WordPress blog, regardless of whether you are monetizing with Adsense, Clickbank, CPA, Amazon, or Affiliate Marketing.

WordPress Themes

I would not even attempt to build a static website today. WordPress, and the army of plugins available for her make this platform a necessity for any one looking to ‘make money online’. And it all starts with a theme…

By far the best WordPress Theme for building niche sites is Profits Theme.

Another theme that I regularly use and recommend is Thesis.

Thesis is an incredible framework that basically allows me to do things that my technically inferior brain would not let me do on most other themes I have tried.
I like Thesis because it allows me to build my niche sites relatively quickly, giving me the freedom to put what I want where, without the headache of having to learn lines of code.

WordPress Plugins.

If the power and ease of use of WordPress does not impress you, then the myriad of plugins certainly will. It does not matter what you want to do, chances are someone has built a plugin that can do it for you, and there are certainly some that I use that make building a niche site an enjoyable experience.

WP Simplicity

The greatest Plugin that the niche site builder has ever known is this new one (its July 2011 as I edit this page) called WP Simplicity.

I won’t go into detail here because quite frankly it does too much – but here’s just a snippet of what you can expect with WP Simplicity:

• Over 140 Plugins preinstalled for easy one-click installation
• Create About/Privacy/Contact/Legal Pages at the push of a button
• Search from within the ‘Add Post’ page for relevant articles/images/videos and add them as an article on your page
• Spin these articles for unique content
• Automatically search for and add Affiliate links to Amazon/ClickBank/eBay

This is a seriously insane plugin that literally automates the entire process of filling a site with initial content. I have only just purchased this plugin but to be honest – I have no idea how I survived without it before!

WPZon Builder (for Amazon sites)

Probably the most critical plugin to my Amazon Niche Site survival, and this is simply because this plugin does for me in 5 minutes what would take me over 8 hours to do myself!! 8 hours!

WPZon Builder is a plugin that imports Amazon products, images, reviews and ratings into your niche blog. There are a few different plugins on the market that will do this for you but none are as reliable, as easy to use, and produce as good a result as WPZon Builder, you have my word on that!

Free Plugins I Recommend.

WPZon Builder is one of the few Plugins that does cost money (money you will get back  faster than you can say Ah -Ah- Ahhh – Amazon!) but they are not all like that. Here is a list of plugins I recommend installing on any new niche website or blog.Remember, the trick is to keep your niche blog simple so there are only a handful of plugins that I use. (all of these are available through your WordPress Dashboard so I have not linked to them here.)

• All-In-One SEO
  The Original and Still the best. Some of the other plugins we will be using even integrate with All-In-One SEO as well, making it almost a must have plugin!
• SEO Smart Links
  Automatically links Keywords to tags, categories and pages. Great for SEO and again, one less thing that we have to worry about now
• Contact Form 7
  The easiest way to add a contact form to your blog. Again – the original and still the best.
• Smart YouTube
  Easily integrate YouTube Videos with the addition of one letter in the youtube link! You will be using this later with great effect!
• Google Analytics for WordPress
  Easily integrate your Google Analytics account into your new site
• Google Analytics Dashboard
  Turns your WordPress Dashboard into a mini Analytics page – making it so much easier to see how you are tracking traffic wise without having to log into your account.
• Google XML Sitemaps
  This plugin generates a sitemap for your blog and also updates it when changes are made. A must have  for good SEO – and another thing you no longer have to worry about.
• Thesis Openhook
  Obviously only if you use Thesis, allowing me to do more techie stuff without well, being techie! (I use it to put the nav bar below the header for eg. because I think that looks much nicer )
• Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin (GASP)
  Without doubt the best plugin to prevent spam that I have ever used. Get it and watch your spam disappear literally overnight.

Email Marketing

If you are not building a list off of your niche site then you are letting potential customers walk away for nothing!

The Best AutoResponder is Aweber -  a service I have been using and recommending since I first started online. Their service delivery and support is second to none and I would never even think of moving my mailing lists anywhere else!

Building a list is not critical, but it certainly adds another income stream to your growing list, as well as providing an instant source of semi-targeted traffic should you need it down the track. Because of this I always recommend building a list, but for this you are going to need a way to get them to sign up.

The most effective tool I have come across, and currently use on this site is the plugin Pop Up Domination.
