A few days ago I published a post listing my favorite 8 Firefox AddOns that I use to help me to … do stuff better and more efficiently (for lack of a better term).
Since publishing the post I not only received some fabulous references to other helpful addons, I also started doing a little more research – and I found something awesome… 3 things in fact.
3 Firefox Add-Ons You REALLY Want (Trust Me).
Ok so the first one is not mine, it comes courtesy of Steve Scott (to whom their is a dedicated Fanclub, of which I am the president – just so you know) who mentioned an AddOn in the Comments thread that blew me away – before I had even checked out the link! To save myself time I shall copy and paste the original comment here, followed by my take on the matter (because it’s getting me to shut up that’s the trick!)
Best FireFox AddOn For Bloggers/internet marketers – Hands down!
Now you can waffle on wearing multiple niche 'hats'
“I have one for you to add too…. EasyComment. It pre-fills the Name/email/Website blocks when you go to comment. And if you want to comment as an affiliate site, you can preset different “profiles” so set the right profile and just click the link and it will pre-fill everything. (you can also put in pre-filled text for this block. But obviously that will just get you spam binned)” -Steve Scott
I have tested this AddOn and it works beautifully! I even utilised the pre-filled comment box – even though I will just get spam binned… ![]()

As the name suggests, CookieSwap is a Firefox addon designed to quickly and easily swap cookies. And it’s brilliant!
A Cookie – for those who are now furrowing their eyebrows and tilting their heads unnaturally to one side – is a little piece of information left by the ‘offending website’. Think of it as a crumb if you will – as it is basically a fragment of the websites data that is left, be it shopping cart details, User preferences, or your login details. The reasoning behind this is that it saves pageload time and utilises less total bandwidth as some of the data is stored within this ‘Cookie’
*It is important to note that Cookies are not software. They cannot be programmed, cannot carry viruses, and cannot install malware on the host computer.
OK so what’s that mean in English? Basically it means that you can login to multiple Facebook accounts (among a myriad of other things) without ever having to clear your cache (and associated cookies) ever again!
Not only that, when you select a different profile (after creating as many as you like) from the list it will actually log you out of your session and take you to the login screen for your new one (or log you in automatically if you have already done it once and told Facebook to leave you logged in)
This AddOn is an essential tool for any blogger/internet marketer as it gives you total control over which profile is active – meaning you can now literally align your Google/YouTube AND Twitter/Facebook accounts with one profile and never worry about ‘who you are logged in as’!
Important Note!
If you have this AddOn installed then you can now utilise it to log in and out of multiple accounts. This does not mean that you can now have multiple accounts!
If a network (like Facebook or YouTube for eg) allows the creation of more than one account then by all means, create away and use this addon and bask in the glory, BUT (and this is a bigger but than J-Lo’s) if the network or service DOES NOT ALLOW THE CREATION OF MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT then this addon will not help your cause.
There are Cookies and then there is your IP Address. This IP Range does not change (ever) and so when you create an account it tracks the offending IP address (that’s you). If you then try to create another account the system will recognise the IP and tell you where to go. What you need in this case is a VPN Client/Service that will allow you to have more than one IP address and/or swap between a collection of them at will.
If you want to create multiple accounts with sites that would normally not allow it then you need to start utilising tools and software that will hide and change this IP at random. I recommend HideMyAss VPN Client if you are looking for a cheap service that works.
Ok then, moving on…
—–
“Capture the whole page or any portion, annotate it with rectangles, circles, arrows, lines and text, blur sensitive info, one click to upload and share.”
This would have to be the best screenshot tool I have used – and it’s free! OK so being an AddOn it is only limited to capturing images within the browser page – but really how often do you need to screen capture something that isn’t!?!
Need I say more?
That’s it for now – until I find more pieces of the Firefox puzzle under the couch or something… Stay tuned for the first ever Build Rank Profit Webinar – coming very (very) soon
As always, let me know what you think and tell me what your favourite AddOns are by commenting below

You liked it, you really really liked it!
Glad the easy comment worked well for ya!
I have snagit for #3 a program I love (but not free like your handy plugin)
#2 sounded awesome. I actually started salivating when I was thinking about not having to logout/login of these programs to send out tweet on different account, etc.
You know what those dirty bastardo’s did? It is not compatible with Firefox 7.0.
I fell into one of the classic blunders, right behind “never get involved in a land war in Asia” and “never get in a battle of wits with a Sicilian when death is on the line.” is the lesser known, “Never update your web browser until at least 6 months after it is released to give all the good add-ons time to get their updates in”
What a fool I am~!

I wish I’d heard this before. I’ve had to change my Firefox profile because the old one was causing my browser to use memory and crash. The culprit is more than likely an addon and now I’m trying to get back all the addons and settings so I could enjoy Firefox the way I used to (before the crashes).

Come on man, not using Chrome? Lost a little respect for you! Haha, just kidding. I use Mozilla and Chrome. WHAT’S IE? But I use Chrome way more! You should totally do a Chrome Apps/Extensions post, if you use Chrome at all.

Hi Alex,
These are some great add-ons and that’s why I like firefox a lot. I’m already using CookieSwap and Awesome Screenshot but didn’t know about CommentEasy and will never use this add-on.

Hmm. My comment didn’t post. But I personally use Chrome more. I like Firefox, but Chrome is way better. You planning on doing one of these for Chrome? Or have you already done one?

Sounds like some good plugins. But I don’t use firefox anymore unless something is seriously wrong with my computer. I use Rockmelt which has all the chrome plugins and features of it’s own to get around some of these issues. Maybe I’ll add them though in case of disaster in the future

Nice record, I’m often a fan big admirer of firefox and still it’s my default browser but numerous of my friends like Chrome. That is never ever hassle me as I’m absolutely satisfied with it’s companies. I like great screenshot add-on, what I actually like it is blur selection so that you can very easily secure your privacy even though publishing your proof.

Sounds like some very good plug-ins. I’m just a little tired of the firefox updates in the last little while causing some plug-ins to stop working.

Easy comment would be helpful for blog posting and blog commenting. I’m not a fan of Firefox but these features above are worth a try. I’m also intrigued about the add-on that could allow you to open multiple accounts. Now, I don’t have to open a new window when trying to access 2 accounts like Facebook and Twitter.

wow!!great blog, personally i like awesome screenshot add-on, it has a great blur option, it`s easy to secure for privacy while you`re publishing your proof, do others find this too?
I love my add-ons and I take them more serious than a heart attack. But that Awesome capture and annotate one is just plain fun. I am already using that with clients. So here is the rub. SEO Book toolbar vs SEO Quake toolbar add-ons? Similar features but need both to complete the work. Is there anything better? And GO!

LOL I hear you man, at one point I had like three seperate SEO add ons running – and I needed them all! … and GO (indeed)

Pretty cool add ons. Amazing!
The one that I liked the most is the CookieSwap. Imagine I can open facebook in many accounts. Extrenely cool!
The screenshot is kinda exciting, but seems to be used often.
Looking forward for more new and richer add ons. Thanks to the author and the creator of those add ons..
Much appreciated for the information and share!
Thanks for these links I’ll be sure to check them out. I just got rid of all the addons I had on my firefox as I thought I had too many and it was making it run really slowly. So I got rid of them all in hope that it would run faster and it did! So now I’m gonna try a load of extra addons and see which make the most sense for me.

yep, MASSIVE
Thanks for bringing these addons to our attention. I’m always on the lookout for new ones. It’s one of the reasons I keep using Firefox even though I’d rather stick to one browser, ie. Chrome only. Cookieswap and Awesome screenshot will both be hugely useful to me.. particularly the latter as I frequently have to save webpages for visual purposes only and I can rather screengrab it instead now.

Feedly is one of the Firefox add ons that I really like because they keep track of my blogs.
These are all great add-ons for firefox but there are so many more. The only one I don’t like is the comment add-on I would replace it with FireBug. Thanks for sharing!

Wow those are some impressive plugins. I will have to check out a couple of them.
I like the screen capture one it helps me a lot.
Good list, I’m always a fan big fan of the open source tool, firefox is still my no-1 browser.

I used to be a fan of Mozilla Firefox until Google chrome was released. I think one thing that I didn’t
like about it aside from it’s endless pop-ups are the add-ons is that you need to update every now and then. Unlike Chrome where everything was made hassle-free. Thanks for this very informative post though.
