‘This is my realistic and blogger relevant review of Keyword Research Pro, the tool that I personally use to manage most of my niche site and Keyword Research needs’

keyword research pro review

Keyword Research Pro will Search for and analyze keywords, find the number of competing pages, provide detailed information about the top ten ranked sites for that phrase, analyze and sort all this data for you, and do it in a few minutes!  If you are a blogger and you have just written a post, having a tool that can provide you with this information means you can optimise each and every post with the best possible keyphrase. Do you have any idea what this will do to your stats over time? We are talking 1000’s more visitors to your blog, and more importantly they will all be TARGETED visitors!

Let’s take a closer look at Keyword Research and KRP

Keyword Research is by far the most important skill to learn if you want to tackle the online marketplace. It doesn’t matter whether you are a network marketer or a blogger, an affiliate or a site flipper, if you don’t know how to effectively research and maximise the right keywords then you are starting on the back foot.

Learning how to effectively research Keywords is the easy bit, especially since you are smart enough to come over to my Blog :) but the process is a very time consuming one, and in the online marketing world, time is the most valuable commodity – so if there is something I can find that will save me time then I am definitely interested in finding out more.

I definitely needed to find out more about Keyword Research Pro.

Keyword Research Pro BonusKeyword Research Pro is an amazing tool designed by Fabian Lim, a 15 year veteran of the Search Engine Optimisation and Affiliate Marketing scene, so you know it’s going to do your keyword research legwork for you in a way that is actually relevant to your needs. But before you can appreciate why Keyword Research Pro is so good you first need to understand the basic process of researching keywords as well as profitable niche’s using the free tools provided online.

I am not going to go into any detail whatsoever about the processes you might employ, that’s what this site is for – rather I just want you to grasp how long the process takes.

How to find profitable Niches –the (really quick) overview

In order to find a profitable niche you need to make sure that 1: there is a product or service that you can provide, 2: that there is demand for that product or service, 3: that there is not too much competition within that sub niche, and 4: that the market is not already too saturated and the SERP’s dominated by giants.

How to find longtail keywords – the (really quick) overview

Once you have established the niche for your next site build you need to research the applicable keywords and find the low competition longtail keyword that will be your profit puller. To do this you need to first find a list of candidates through the Google Keyword Tool and then find the competition for each of these phrases. This requires a search in Google with the phrase in inverted commas (“ “), which tells Google to search for that exact phrase. The resulting pages are those with that keyphrase in their title and thus are your competition. As you can imagine this process takes a considerable amount of time, but with Keyword Research Pro – all this occurs in minutes not hours.

Attention Bloggers! Who wants traffic?

Below I have listed the features of Keyword Research Pro, how I utilize each feature and how it applies to the blogger and the average internet marketer.

  • One-Time Payment (Under $100) – No Monthly Fees!

OK I had to put this one first because this alone is what makes it so incredible. Lifetime support and upgrades and for $87 (10off is code) it is the smartest investment you will ever make, and the best ROI you will probably see.

  • Helps You Locate  MILLIONS Of Keywords At Your Fingertips!

It takes this information from a variety of sources including Google Adwords, Keyword Discovery, Wordtracker, YouTube and many more. I like that I have a choice and can get an all round idea based on comparisons between results.

  • Replicates Google AdWords Keyword Tool’s Major Features!

All the usual functionality including Broad/Exact Match, Local/Global Search etc. This is important because you really need to get ‘exact’ search volume results for your key phrase.

  • Easily Uncover TONs Of Profitable Long-Tail Keywords With Little To No Competition!

Apart from being detrimental to the niche site marketer’s survival, the fact that the exact search volume and the competing pages are displayed in minutes means the average blogger is now in control too. Imagine if each and every post you wrote was optimized for the best possible key phrase. We are talking thousands more targeted visitors to your blog over time.

  • Is Amazingly FAST – Fetch Keyword Data In MINUTES, Not Hours!

I already mentioned this, but yeah it’s soooo much easier and faster now.

  • Provides One-Click Product And Niche Brainstorming

OK this is seriously the most awesome feature ever!
This feature uses an algorithm that takes data from a number of sources including eBay and Amazon.com and basically gives you the most random list of ideas ever! If you are starting with niche sites then you will love this. Just click, explore and bam! You have your next possible niche site idea based on a profitable key phrase that I guarantee you NEVER would have thought of yourself!

Here is a screen shot example:

Keyword Research Pro Reviewkeyword research pro review

Keyword Research Pro Review

I had NO IDEA there was such a potential niche marketing goldmine hidden inside a pumpkin!

  • Provides REAL-TIME Comprehensive Keyword Analysis

Unlike some software out there that provides you with cached data, Keyword Research Pro is connected to Google/Wordtracker/etc so the information is well, real time.

  • Keyword Research Pro Analysis Options:

It will not only tell you how popular any keyword is, it will also tell you how much competition there is, how many people are advertising on those keywords, how much they are paying, their actual ad copy, you can even view your competitors actual landing pages, as well as analyse the top ten ranked sites for any key phrase. This is brilliant feature that saves even more time – because checking the top ten for your chosen keyword is very important. There’s no use trying if only Huge influential sites dominate the first page.

  • Offers LSI Keyword Suggestions

Instantly find what keywords Google thinks are highly relevant to your niches.

  • Has A Built-In Powerful Filtering System

This is a particularly helpful feature because I can remove what I don’t want to see and make my final exported results a lot more manageable. For example, I am not interested in less than 500 exact searches a month, nor am I interested in more than 200,000 competing pages – so I filter them out.

  • Quickly And Easily Format Keywords For PPC Campaigns

I have not delved into PPC so I have not used this feature

  • Allows Easy Export Of Keyword Data

In this day and age you would hope so, but just to confirm, yes you can export the results to excel (csv format) and with the filtering function, the results are so much neater.

  • FREE Membership to the Keyword Research Community!

Sign up to my Keyword Research Newsletter t to receive Keyword Research and Niche Marketing related updates as well as tips and tricks on finding the best possible keyword. You get this anyway but I figured if you are making the wise decision to purchase KRP then you would surely be wise enough to sign up to my newsletter as well.

Alex: Hey. You really are into SEO and Keywords :) I know you admitted that in one of your recent posts, but I can definitely see that you really believe in it. You sold me on Keyword Research Pro. Your explanation was great and thorough so thank you for that. I actually do have a question though … do you think this tool will be helpful for people who know very little about Keywords and SEO? Is it pretty self explanatory and easy to use? Thanks again for the recommendation.

Hi Sibyl!
I love Keywords! (sad really isn’t it) They are the lifeblood of ‘Search’ and Search is the lifeblood of the web. (ooh, that’s a nice line, might write that down) :)
Thanks for the comments and feedback on the review, glad you found it useful and to answer your question, yes OMG that’s what I love most about it, it’s so easy to use, you don’t need to know anything really, between my blog and that tool you can’t go wrong :)

Hey Alex,

Looks like a great tool to have in the marketing arsenal. So many features and pretty well priced. How does it compare to market samurai or have you tried it. Would be interesting to compare them.

Hey Glyn,

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, to answer your question – ummm, I can’t :) Have only used the trial version of Market Samurai but found it unreliable. Louis mentioned that it has a lot more features but is a lot dearer so there you go. I find it does everything I need and does it quickly and reliably. I think it would be interesting to compare them actually, and since I blog about that subject it’s only fitting that I go buy Market Samurai and do that very comparison here.
THanks for the idea Glyn.

Hey Alex,

Another great post and yes very thorough, but why not if you know all the in’s and outs of a product, certainly not too long. Will definitely look into buying at some point, though writing to a specific phrase is more difficult (get writers block most of the time as it is lol).

Enjoyed it for the keyword aspect alone anyway, you certainly are the man to come to if we get stuck in that area. Have used the adwords keyword tool and have just been using wordz on a free trial but functionality wise, doesn’t compare in the slightest.

Thanks again

Simon

Hey Simon,
Thanks for the great feedback on the review, glad you found it useful. I don’t necessarily write to a certain phrase when I am writing articles for backlinks since I am really only interested in the anchored text and not the article itself, to a degree at least anyway.
In regards to the keyword tools you spoke of nothing compares to the Google tool and as long as you are using them, you are doing alright in my book.
Nice one mate, thanks for the kudos and the comments my friend. Respect!

Hi Alex,

Been waiting for you to blog on this software so that I can read about the software. Thanks for giving a review on it. For the price they are charging it covers the basics of what you need to progress with keyword research. Market Samurai have a lot of other added features making it dearer.

So you target less than 200,000. This is a pretty good number. With experience I have gone after competition in the 1million and was able to get to the top. Just takes a little longer, few months and not years, primarily because as I said 95% don’t understand SEO, and get it wrong.

I actually came across another keyword tool that goes much deeper than the adwords, keyword discovery tool as it goes deep in Google, Yahoo and Bing to get them.

Going for 500 exact monthly searches is my minimum boundary as well. With your niche blogging, do you write your own contents or outsourced ? How often do you update the niche blogs ? Do you manually get backlinks ?

Hey Louis, glad you found the review informative and helpful.
I don’t really have a set figure for competition because if you market something hard enough you can usually rank, as you said. But 200,000 is a good way to get your ROI within the month.
I only write articles for distribution, not for the actual site, but none of my niche sites are focused around information, only products and services.
Will be posting on this subject soon

Hi Alex,

At least you write something. I prefer to outsource article writing. Product and services. So I take it a review on them with adsense around them. You should be able to get sales on them. Some of my upcoming sites will be focused on consumer related type products. You can find a gold mine there in terms of monthly search volume. Like I said I plan to look at CPL type offers also. Adsense ones will just be about adsense and the content will just be targeted to get a targeted ad displayed to get clicks.

Alex, this sounds like an awesome tool. I will admit that my keyword research can eat up a lot of my time, and this sounds like it would cut that down.

Have you had success with it? Has it produced a good ROI? I’m not asking you to post income results or reveal and URLs, just wondering if you’ve gotten good results out of the tool.

Cheers!

Hey Josh,

Yeah this is a great tool to use, really user friendly too i have found. Takes me about 10 minutes to find a niche and then get a longtail keyword to build a site around. Used to take onwards of 2 hours!
I still go and double check the final results just because I am anal and don’t trust software no matter what, but only once has there been a discrepency.
In regards to ROI, it really is the best i have gotten. I already made that back and then some with my niche sites, but I also use it for all my blog posts and I am getting about 50% of my traffic from Google so it is clearly paying off here too. (not making any money off this blog mind you)
Thanks for your comments and for stopping by again Joshua

Hi Alex,

This is a well written review! Understand that my knowledge on this subject is limited at this point. Having said that, I believe that I understood everything (yep, first time).

The questions that Louis asked are very similar to my own. That is, with a niche site, do you need to update it more than every month or so to keep your ranking? Also, do you write content for all of them (my *guess* is you have at least 15 or 25+ niche sites and it seems like it would take forever to write for all of them)?

Hi Mark,

I can respond on a couple. For me I am just comparing with Alex. Updating is required to sustain top ranking. See my latest blog post. Writing for them all is extremely tedious and boring. Again my latest blog post talks about a way to get updated content to a niche blog. I believe Alex has close to 100 sites, and growing. So I doubt he would manually write content regularly on them all. I’ll let Alex fill in the gaps there.

Hey Louis, you are right there – updating is indeed crucial, but that’s why I use auto content – there I admitted it :)
I only have 25 sites so far (that was not bad until you put 100 down, now it seems abysmal!)
I will be checking out your latest post with interest actually, because I am currently writing a post to cover some of the questions raised recently.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the review – mind you considering a wrote a post called how to write a review that sells, you would hope I could actually do that. :)
To answer your question, yes I write a lot for all my sites, but ironically none of that ever sees the site. The only writing I do on the actual site is the initial information that fills all the pages.
Then I never go back except to approve all the trackbacks I get.

WOW! Your review is great Alex. This tool is also great. I am most amazed that it can get data from eBay and Amazon, that’s super cool. I’m also amazed in its filtering system where you can choose not to display the given number of searches or competitors, also cool.

Very nice review Alex. I’m glad to stop by here again.
