Keyword Winner or Keyword Loser? A WordPress Plugin Review.

keyword winner seo plugin review

The Keyword Research Blogger’s analysis and review of the new SEO WordPress Plugin, Keyword Winner. Here is the video review, it’s about 8 minutes long and I tried to be as to the point and informative as possible, but I have also provided a full text review of the product for those who prefer that format.

What is Keyword Winner?

It’s a Keyword Research plugin that provides real time Keyword Research Results – all from within the ‘Add New Post’ screen.

Who is this plugin for?

Bloggers and webmasters alike – anyone who produces their own content. But specifically, I think it’s perfect for anyone trying to make money online, because you can install it and forget about it. Oh, and unlike so many  ‘make money online’ tools out there, this one will give you a Return on your Investment – Guaranteed!

Would I personally buy Keyword Winner?

Yes! It’s relevant and easy to use. Once installed it does all the work for you, so unlike other ‘Marketing Tools’ that require a lot more effort on your behalf, this one is quite literally plug and play.

What would I use it for? (good or evil)

With Great power comes great responsibility, and even though Spiderman knows everything there is to know about the Web, he knows jack about traffic and Keyword Research.
Keyword Winner SEO plugin is designed to help you optimize your content for the search engines, which if you ask me is THE most important (and mundane) aspect of blogging.

I now use this plugin to help me optimize each post for maximum exposure in the SERPs. I have always done this, but whereas before it took me 5 or so minutes and at least 4 windows, now it takes 10 seconds, and all happens within the ‘Add Post’ page!

How would I use it? (see attached video for full example)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVBvyxL71oQ

Let’s use the phrase ‘Growing Lavender’ as an example.

I type this into the ‘title’ window in a new post within WordPress and click on the ‘Get Suggestions’ tab. The following results are displayed:

How to use Keyword Winner examplekeyword results with keyword winner plugin

From this, I can ascertain the following:

  • Lavender Plants is more popular a phrase in relation (according to Google insights) and it also has a LOT less competing pages.
  • Growing Lavender Indoors is the primary keyphrase I should be optimizing for
  • Lavender Seeds are popular at this time of year!

I let Keyword Winner help me optimize the title, but I take note of the top 3 or 4 keyword results so that I may optimize the content and the page for them as well.

How does this differ from my own manual process?

It doesn’t! This is what blows me away most about this plugin, it literally provides me with all I need to post my content.
Blogging and publishing content is all about the two main statistics, search volume and competition. Keyword Winner gives me an overall idea of what are the best keywords to include in my post and title and I simply optimize accordingly.

What are the benefits of Keyword Winner?

Hassle Free SEO

The fact that you can simply install it and continue to blog as you always have is such a blessing! Regular readers of the Keyword Research Blog are always telling me that they would love to implement these basic SEO strategies I talk about, but they simply don’t have time. Now there is no excuses! Keyword Winner is like having your very own keyword research blogger sitting in your edit posts window, waiting to give you awesome advise on Keyword optimization!

Content Ideas!

I would not have thought of this is a benefit, but just look at the example above even. I know nothing about Growing Lavender (I struggle growing weeds) but if I was to write about it, already I have three or four highly optimized post ideas to write about!

Who Wants Targeted Traffic?

Search Engine Traffic is Targeted Traffic, and Targeted Traffic buy stuff! These people (170 million of them each hour) are not bloggers or internet marketers, they’re consumers – and they usually have their checkbooks ready!

*Want to make more affiliate commissions?
Write Killer Reviews and Optimize them for the Search Engines to increase conversions
*Want to make more Adsense Revenue?
Bloggers don’t click Adsense, but Search Engine Traffic does!
*Want to increase Subscribers or build your list?
Target those actually looking for what you have to offer. (instead of other bloggers)

What are the problems with this plugin?

  • The Keyword Winner plugin is not designed for niche research or any indepth keyword analysis, although it never professes to being able to. The results provided by this plugin are perfect for optimizing posts once you have established the topic of your overall blog however, and this is the crucial part of blogging that so many miss.
  • The Competing pages results are broad match and not exact in title matches. If this was the case I feel that the plugin would have cost A LOT more to develop and therefore to buy.
  • The Trends results are like they are in Google’s keyword tool – useless at best. I think there is only so much one can garner when a bar that represents 67 million votes is 4mm high. These results are clickable however, and again – you only need limited information once you are at this stage of the optimization process

Why do you need this new plugin?

*170 million Keyword Searches are conducted every hour of every day on Google alone!

*80% of online transactions begin with a Keyword Search

You can’t argue with those stats. I don’t care how many friends you have on Facebook or how many tweeps you have following you, NOTHING compares to the potential traffic from a well optimized page.

But there is a problem…

Keyword Research is the most important part of Search Engine Optimization, but the process of learning, understanding, and then implementing effective SEO can turn your brain into mush.

Learning and applying SEO basics is imperative if you want to succeed online and I have made it a business teaching others why and how to do just this, so when I saw this plugin for the first time, I knew instantly it was the answer to the bloggers SEO conundrum.

Write for the Search Engines or Write for the People?

This has been an ongoing debate ever since blogging began, and finding the perfect balance is something I have been constantly trying to perfect, because as those figures above quite clearly show, you NEED to write for the Search Engines too!

Keyword Winner is the perfect balance

What this WordPress Plugin has effectively done is taken everything I have learnt about blogging and SEO and rolled it into one package,

because now you can literally write for the people and let Keyword Winner show you what the search engines would also like included. That’s not so hard is it?

Keyword Winner is a plugin that if utilised, WILL bring you more (targeted) traffic, allowing you to focus on the more important aspects of your business – like making money!

Keyword winner review and bonus buy

Get your copy before it’s too late!

Dan was kind enough to launch the plugin at an introductory rate of $47 for the single site license and $87 for the multi site license but this price is set to increase in less than 7 days!

Buy it now at the low price before it’s too late. Especially now that it has the Keyword Research Bloggers Seal of Approval!*

*I am preparing a bonus for those who purchase through my affiliate link, so if you do so earlier, shoot me an email and I will make sure you are the first to get your copy. (think Off page optimization ;) )

Bryan,

Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch the review, I also appreciate the kind words in regards to my blog and knowledge, cheers :)
Now I completely and utterly agree with you about the top ten, but that is when you are talking about niche site research in my opinion.
If you are about to build a new page or site from scratch then you need to ascertain whether or not you stand a chance of making page one, and yes – that means assessing what the PR and status of those already there. But this plugin is designed to help you optimise content once you already have established that niche site – at least that is how i see it.

This plugin is great because it allows you to optimize each post so that it gets more exposure than it already would – and you do not need to change what you are already doing.

If you are in the ‘make money blogging’ niche, for example, then no amount of optimizing is going to get you ranked for that phrase, but this plugin can show you BASICALLY how to mabye work around that. Besides, the top ten for any given keyword is different, so this plugin can show those ignorant to SEO that there are easier ways to have your content ranked. That’s my take on it anyway

I do think you make some excellent points however, and I appreciate you sharing them here, especially because these are points I perhaps should have covered initially in the review. I did actually write it down, just never made it to print I guess :)

*cough cough* REVIEW!!!! AAHAHHHHHH! Now that I got that off my chest… Cool plugin. I always like plugins that do half the work for you. And as for your “make money blogging” niche comment…. is that a challenge Alex?

Oh man, while I got your attention, go over to Jean’s site and slap her right quick. She announced that she is quitting blogging!

Alex October 26, 2010 at 2:37 AM

LOL!
I forgot about how much you LOVE a review!
My comment was not a challenge – But I accept all the same ;)

That would be fun actually!

What is this about Jean?? It’s not APril 1 so I suppose I had better go see

Good to see you btw Brandon!

Alex, I will admit, watching the video got me a little bit excited for the product. You did a great job of selling it. I can certainly see the usefulness of it. TBH I am still a little on the fence though, I use Market Samurai, which you know does all of that and more.

On the other hand.. With MS I have to open another window and consciously make decisions to search for terms. It is very nice to have it all inline. I can see where it would be a lot more natural to us a plugin that is sitting right in wordpress like that.

I will likely give it a shot when I get back home and have time to actually use it. (for now I put a link to this page on my “notes” sheet)

On a completely note. I love what you do in the video with the zoom in. What program does that. I always have a hard time reading the inline videos. That zoom is full of “win”!

I have to go rush and tell Patricia you are making a move on her Lavender market now! ;)

Let the great Lavender wars of 2010 commence!

Alex October 25, 2010 at 2:07 PM

Hah thanks Steve!

I’ll take that as a compliment my friend.
FYI – I use Camtasia, but actually spent 4 hours learning how to use it before I could even record this LOL!
Now I know they hey!
Yeah I think the zoom is a definite win, especially the pointless tilt. Loves it!

Patricia better watch out LOL (some good results within the Lavender niche actually LOL)

Steve@Lifestyle Design October 25, 2010 at 4:32 PM

Alex, Yeah that pointless tilt really made the whole thing. I liked that a lot too!

Alex

I would love to buy this one mate but I have just built 15 niche sites and the domain names, outsourcing fees for bits of work have wiped me out.

Hopefully next month I will have seen some reward and will buy through yourself as I picked it from this Blog post.

Regards
Pete

Great presentation, Alex.
Yes, there are other tools on the market but I tell you, I like this being incorporated into the post screen, which saves me time. I need every edge I can get.

That video was sweet. Thanks for the review, man. :-)

Hey Alex,

I like the comment you made towards the end of the video – install this plug-in and you don’t have to bother with reading your blog! You did encourage people to do both, but wouldn’t that be a powerful marketing angle…

Read all 215 posts in my blog *OR* just buy this plug-in with all the wisdom embedded in it. The techniques discussed in each new series of posts will be added to the plug-in as an upgrade for those who also purchase the 12 month maintenance option.

You keep giving me brilliant ideas :-)

Michael.

Yes, it’s possible to write for both people and search engines, and it’s often not that hard.

I suspect that most people complaining about “writing for search engines” may not be that good at writing for people anyway.

Personally, I strike a balance. Sometimes, I don’t care about keywords at all, or even SEO. In those cases, I’m often writing strictly for myself (it’s allowed, you know).

Patricia,

I think you should start buy Keyword Winner now before the price goes up in less than 10 days. From there, you will get good results once you research keywords properly for your Lavender blog.

Looks pretty useful, Alex. I had to comment because I checked out your video–great job and you sound smart (not that you don’t, but I was curious about your accent, haha).

Reply

Alex October 25, 2010 at 12:51 PM

hahaha thanks Moon – I think?
Does sounding smart and being smart differ? I hope not too much LOL

What do you think of the accent btw?
I only ask because when I went to the states, everyone thought I was British because I did not speak like Steve Erwin. Crikey!

Which plugin do you think is better Keyword Winner or Scribe?

Reply

Jeff Caceres October 24, 2010 at 5:23 PM

Keyword Winner of course is the best and easy to use SEO WordPress plugin. It saves you more time in keyword research and analysis. Although we know the real game of SEO and keyword research and it takes time to get our site up to the Google SERPS. Keyword Winner is one instrument that will change and revolutionize your way of doing SEO for your blog posts.

Reply

Alex October 25, 2010 at 11:47 AM

Definitely Jeff

Reply

Alex October 25, 2010 at 12:49 PM

Hey Hunter,

Good question, but that’s like comparing apples and oranges.
Scribe is far superior in every way, but it also costs the same as Kyword Winner -EVERY MONTH!
Get what you pay for I guess.
Scroibe good for ALL onpage SEO, Keyword winner just good for optimizing posts.

Actually a great way to learn SEO basics if you ask me!

Fantastic review Alex! Dan just stopped by my site other day and remarked about his plugin and I was so waiting for your review. Love it! And this definitely sounds like a winner. Finding keywords, although important, it such a bore. =)

Thanks again!
P.S. This post earned a spot in my weekly ‘That’s a Wrap’. Check it out on Friday. =)

Sounds like an awesome plug in. I have been fitness blogging for about 1.5 years and I thought I knew what I was doing regarding keyword research. But I didn’t. Then I learned more and again thought I knew what I was doing. But I didn’t. It’s an ongoing process and any tool like this is a great asset. Thanks for the review.

Sire@Commenting The Right Way October 30, 2010 at 12:25 PM

Sounds like a pretty good plugin and one I would use if I was into keyword research. I know how important it is but at the moment I’m just blogging because I love it and I’m making a little money on the side. None of my blogs are really business orientated but I reckon I’ll give it a go if I ever take that route.

It has stirred my interest though and I may do a bit of research to see if there are any free plugins available.
