What the heck is Auto Content?
When I first started online one of my Goals was to find out what on earth Auto Content was, how I could get it, and of course whether it was worth using in the first place. I mean who wouldn’t want free content – on any subject, just given to you?!? And I’m thinking, ‘who on earth would want to write endless amounts of content on every subject under the sun and then just give it to me anyway?’
Meanwhile back on the other side of the house…
I’ve got this article spinning software that I bought. It’s friggin’ useless. By the time I have highlighted all the words I want changed and then scanned the text for obvious mistakes I could have written the article 12 times! But I’m stubborn. So now I have 100 versions of the same article and I need a place to submit them?
I read about Article Directories in the ebooks I downloaded! In fact, all they ever talk about in reference to Article marketing is the actual directories. Interesting.
So I proceed to spend the next umpteen years creating profiles in the 67 million directories that happen to orbit our galaxy. What a waste of time, here I was trying to solve a puzzle when the answer had been staring me in the face the whole time.
I never thought to put both sides of the equation together.
If you have not figured it out already, Article Marketing and Auto Content are the same thing.
It was so simple that I was almost disappointed, surely the answer to such a perplexing puzzle had to be more complicated than that?! So Auto Content on a blog is simply me allowing hundreds of other ‘article marketers’ to place their spun, keyword rich content on my site. That’s it?
It’s actually quite genius when you think about it because everyone wins!
- Blog Owner – Free Content!
- Article Creator – Free Backlink!
But allow me to delve deeper into the darker side of Article Marketing.
I call it the darker side of Article Marketing because this is the side interested in quantity not quality, and this is where the keyword research blogger (that’s me!) starts to get excited, because now we’re talking BACKLINKS.
Google’s Algorithm
Backlinks are the backbone of Google’s algorithm, that much we know. It’s all a bit mysterious, a bit like father’s day in Tasmania , but the backlink part of it makes sense at least. I like to think of it from a business point of view, because then it really makes sense. Google IS a business after all, and they are in the business of providing search results based on what we, the people think. So if your page has thousands of relevant backlinks pointing to it, Google is going to say ‘hey we better put that page first because that’s clearly what the people want –and we have a business to run here, can’t stuff around our customers’
Keyword your anchor text.(for God’s Sake!)
I’ve talked before about Keywords in your Anchor text and this is the crucial element to Article Marketing (or any Marketing for that matter) that cannot be overlooked. When I first started online I was unintentionally optimising my link bound pages for ‘CLICK HERE’ and the like, so make sure that the hyperlinked text (the anchor) within your article, and the link in the Author Bio box is your Keyword!
How to rank on page one of Google
I don’t care what anyone tries to tell you, ranking on the first page of Google using only Article Marketing is possible. It’s possible with competition exceeding 5 million for a blog post, and it’s possible for a niche site with competition exceeding 20,000. At least that’s what I can report SO FAR. I’m only a few months into my niche marketing campaign so who knows what results I will be able to bring later on down the track.
But writing and submitting thousands of articles is a pointless and time consuming activity, not only because writing 50 articles on Pool Chlorine could possibly deteriorate your frontal lobe; a
nd not only because there are services and software packages available to do it for you, but also (and mainly) because the intention of the article is not actually for it to be read.
Oh my God. Yes, I said it. The internet marketing faux pas.
A Tree falling in the forest.
You know the expression, ‘does a tree falling in the forest make any sound if no one is around to hear it?’, is a bit like article marketing for backlinks, except that this tree definitely makes a LOT of noise. When I first learned of how this whole process worked I was a little perplexed to say the least. What was the point of writing an article if no one was ever going to read it? Backlinks. There’s that word again. But this is the side of Article Marketing you need to hide from yourself.
Create an Alter Ego.
If you are trying to build your brand online through your blog at the same time as generating income through niche marketing (like I am) then you really don’t want your name associated with thousands of spun articles on topics as mundane and broad as Pool Chlorine and highchairs. When you start your article marketing campaign you need to create a new name for yourself so that the real you can continue to focus on one specific niche.
Niche sites love Unique Article Wizard.
I’m not going to go into the techniques and strategies I use to monetize my niche sites but I will tell you this. They ALL rely heavily on auto content. And this auto content is none other than a collation of 100’s of articles from other niche site marketers, all utilising the same paid service as I am and all trying to get their sites ranked through keyword rich backlinking. The advantages to utilising the service that I do are awesome, and one of the biggest advantages is that they offer a plug-in to make your life incredibly easy. Once installed you simply create the categories for which you would like to receive articles in and choose how many you want to receive each day. Not only do you then get keyword rich, content related articles hitting your site 24/7, you also now have something else happening in the background that adds a little punch to your niche sites SEO power.
As the Articles are automatically fed into your blog two things are happening that Google loves:
- Keyword rich pages are being created, adding to the on page power of your site and the related keywords
- Search Engines are being pinged regularly as new posts are published, and we know how much Google loves a ping from a blog.
And you can have these advantages too, right now, for FREE!
I couldn’t believe it when I found out, but the service that I use, Unique Article Wizard offer their plug-in to use without utilising their paid services. I suppose it makes sense because the more blogs with the plug-in, the more backlinks can be obtained by paid subscribers. Simple follow the link HERE to get your copy of the plug-in today and start filling your niche sites with auto content. (this takes you to the FAQ but from there you can access and install the plugin)
Stay tuned for part three in the Article Marketing Series where I go into detail about how I utilise Unique Article Wizard to get both my niche sites and my blog posts ranked on the first page of Google, as well as an in depth review of the features of both the paid and free sides of the service – including that plug-in I just mentioned.
Can’t wait? Follow the link to check out more of what Unique Article Wizard can do for your online business, or hang on until next week when I bring you a full review as part of the final instalment of Article Marketing uncovered.

Hi, Alex:
Interesting points you make.
A couple of questions for you:
1. Since no matter how you look at it, article marketing = TIME and lots of it. Is it really the best way to get those backlinks? Considering I can build some quality backlinks to any of my post within an hour or so.
2. I tried Unique Article Wizard in the past. I must confess, I hated the fact that I needed to spin articles to really make use of it – talking about losing IQ.
What I noticed though was the fact that my content was published to many unindexed extremely low-traffic poor quality sites.
I did not think that was the best way to get back links at the end of the day.
What do you think?

Hi Ana,
Sorry took so long to respond, comment was in spam queue for some reason?? anyway…
I think you touch on some very important points about UAW and how it operates. The sites you get links from are not always low PR sites, although in general this IS the case.
I have had moderate success with UAW and will continue to see how it goes, but I also think you make some very good points here, something I will take on board.
Interested to know the methods you use to get backlinks to your articles?

Another thing to keep in mind about UAW, Alex: I noticed that every time I submitted an article through them, my ranking went down. It went back up once I stopped using it.
Just a note from personal experience…
Here are a couple of methods I use for link building:
One way link building strategies
Hope this helps!

Ana,
It is so refreshing to see a fellow blogger who genuinely believes in the power of reciprocation. You have a very successful blog, yet have consistently taken the time to add tremendous value to each of the posts you comment on here, and then you follow up to my comments further.
Thank you again for all your support and encouragement, truly a breath of blogging fresh air (doesnt sound that nice actually LOL)
Checking out your post now, thanks Ana!

Hey Alex,
Is that what you are using because I keep seeing your article links popping up all over the place, and I thought how on earth is he doing that???
I actually liked this article, FAINT!
Reason: Because it was not too technical for me to follow along, I actually understood the process for once ha ha.
Look forward to the next part, I love how your actually using these methods so I therefore know they must work or you wouldn’t blog about them.
Judging by the amount of articles I have seen popping up for you, my guess is you are going to have a ton of back-links.
Got your email, will send you a reply a little later tonight, time to cook the dinner.

Hey Sally.
I do use UAW but not with my own name usually (only when it’s a blog post that reviews a product and I want it ranked) – so if you are seeing my articles everywhere it could possibly be a good thing for me (in terms of I am clearly making a dent online
)
Glad you enjoyed the post – SHOCK HORROR. hee hee

Alex,
Thank you for poiting out the tip about using the keywords in the anchor text. I keep forgetting to do it at the bottom of my articles, probably a lot of work that could have benefitted me with more back-links.

I have reviewed a lot of spinners and article rewriting software but I find that creating a new article takes less time for me than rewriting and article with rewriting software, and I am already a slow writer.

I’m with you Andreas, it’s just easier in the long run to write them again yourself.
Thanks for stopping by my friend, still looking at your services with interest
Pool Chlorine – genius! Oh man, reminds me of the days I did freelance writing, tons of articles on the most boring topics you could imagine. Got the job done but it would have been more enjoyable if I had a lobotomy.
Great explanation overall, I had an understanding of it before why people spun and sent out articles but there’s always been so much fluff and misdirection from people – I appreciate that you explained it without being like “articles, make trillions of dollars”!
UAW looks interesting and has been on my radar – quick question (because I have work in 3 hours and I haven’t slept) does UAW also submit the articles?
Overall, the auto content sounds like it’s going out to content networks – which is what I assume what you meant by the paid service. I’ve seen a few other networks like that out there – do they have high PR or are they just filler blogs (PR0) and such.
Keep us updated, would love to see some reports on how it all works out in the end!

THanks for the feedback on the post Murray, always good from a great writer like yourself.
In response to the UAW stuff – I will be doing a full review in part 3 but yes it does submit for you as well. Once you have written the three versions of the same article and told it how many submissions you want a day it goes off and does the rest for you on auto pilot – you just approve the trackbacks and you’re laughing.
Stay tuned Murray, plenty more to come

Hi Alex,
Nice touch to this article. Many many years ago, I fell in the Click Here trap of contextual linking, and joined all these pointless article directories manually. I even used a service called Article Marketer, and got bombarded with emails.
Blogs can outrank high competing pages. In terms of monetization, I take it that they are mostly adsense focused on your part.
I’ll look forward to reading part 3.

Alex,
Ha! I started the article with the thought, “I wonder if her has tried UAW”. Shows me to try and teach a old dog new tricks.
I only recently started using UAW for my articles, though. I get the concept of it spinning up the three articles in different formats, but I wonder how “spun” that really is. I guess worst case scenario you lose a couple of backlinks through duplicate content.
I found one pretty good spinner that let you build up your own database over time and it seemed to work pretty well to give article an extra little spin. But I changed my mind on it. It worked a lot faster and better than a bunch of others, but still took just too much time away from actually writing. I was making thing too complicated.
Your “father’s day in Tasmania” comment really made me chuckle. I don’t know too much about Tasmania past the “devil”. But it is funny that every single country must have a place like that. Like fathers day in Beijing, Siberia, Sao Paolo, Jakarta etc etc

LOL! Damn, so no chance in getting you to buy through my affiliate link then?! LOL
How are you mate, sorry for some reason this found the spam filter? anyway -
I assume that UAW does a pretty good job of the spinning process since they are so reputable, but as for whether all those articles end up on blogs is another story.
Glad you liked the fathers day comment, yeah Tasmania is a pretty small island at the bottom of Australia (well actually it’s just over half the size of england – but compared to the mainland) so obviously the gene pool is limited hahaha
Thanks for stopping by mate, I actually just got back from your site – epic post you had there man

I have questions and doubts. But they can wait. I will have to check out the Unique Article Wizard site and plugin. I always reserve judgment until after I play with the toys. Off to check out the site now. Ta ta, and thanks a bunch for the interesting ideas.

Hey Alex,
Have been thinking about using UAW for a while, actually use the plug-in on another ‘trial’ blog just to see what type of articles are received. Vast majority appear to be readable and are spun very well (get the occasional crappy ones but few and far between).
Look forward to reading your review in your next post. Think all the questions I have in my head (and reservations) will be answered then.
Thanks once again for sharing

Hello Guys!
Would love to head your advice on these 2 program. UAW [Unique Article Wizard] or AMA [Article Marketing Automation]
As i intend to pay a monthly fee on either one, which will be the ideal choice if i intend to create linkwheel as well?
I thought of getting UAW will do since AMA are also Blogging sites which is the same as Linkwheel platform. [Web Blog]
Any suggestion will be good. Thanks!
