My plugins are unplugged

by Alex on February 18, 2010

Is Basic WordPress still too confusing for you? Well it is for me! I have found plenty of how to guides on installing the actual software and starting the blog. And that’s it. I have wordpress installed – well obviously, and I still can’t figure out how to do anything! I get a good tip from one site, then I might get a great plug-in to install from another site, but there are some things that are just still too confusing for me, and I can’t figure out whether I am using the plug-in to full effect!. I think therefore, before I start getting all fancy, I willactually attempt to understand how it all works, so that maybe I can help others to figure this thing out. And I think I will start with the list of plug ins that the affiliate marketer, wanting establish themselves and eventually to monetize his/her blog – needs to have!

Wow, you were so new and fresh. It’s funny how different your site looks today. Are you surprised?

Hi Alex,
I’ll be doing a series of E-Books on plug-ins for the newbie coming up later this summer along with a developers guide, also basic programing languages for WordPress is on the drawing board.
The real problem stems from so many plug-ins that have little or no support. And then, so many come and go it’s hard to keep up. So even a well timed post on the issue is sometimes outdated in a number of weeks.
Keep in mind that WordPress is self-contained. Plug-ins are what allow us to work outside of the software and interact with third parties. With a constantly changing development environment it’s not hard to image the issues.

Awesome Jeffrey, Looking forward to it.
Man I just went and reread this post (it is very short – see I can write short ones) and man have things changed.
It’s good reminiscing sometimes, makes you realise how far you’ve come
Looking forward to the post

Hello. I find some of the plugins so complicated and spend a lot of my time playing with them, which takes me away from writing content. I can’t help myself. I think i’ll have to keep an eye on this blog.

Hahahaha tell me about it Anthony!
And don’t even get me started on the whole ‘playing with plugins’ aspect LOL
Think I should go take up fantasy football or something, what do you think? ;)
